This symbol represents the
father and his son, or first born. The father and son together represent
the teachings handed down from one generation to another. The seven
lines above the man's head represent the seven generations (meaning
that every time he makes a decision, that decision affects people
seven generations from now, and because of that he must think about
seven generations in the past). The three lines above the boy's
head represent the grandfather, the father, and the first born.
They also represent the father, the mother, and the first born.
