The
Cultural Resources Protection Program provides training for law
enforcement, the public, federal and state agencies, tribes and
others in cultural resources management and protection. The CRPP
also conducts presentations to create an awareness of the importance
of cultural resources, the laws, and the protection of these historical
resources. CRPP designs and teaches all classes offered.
CULTURAL RESOURCES
MANAGEMENT TRAININGS
(ARPA) Crime Scene Investigation

This
training provides a unique tribal perspective to the teaching of
this two-day training. An overview of archaeological resources crimes
will be addressed so that participants understand the laws, statues,
and regulations of ARPA. Simulated archaeological sites will be
looted for a hands-on crime scene investigation.

This training provides Tribes with an overview of how to start a
cultural resources management program, how to negotiate contracts
and grants, how to develop relationships with federal, state, and
local governments, and many other topics.
Cultural Resources
Technician Certification Training(click

This 40-hour training provides participants with the basic understanding
of field archaeology, how to conduct a cultural resources survey,
and how to record a site. An additional 40 hours of follow-up training,
in the field, is required to be certified as a Cultural Resources
Technician I.
Inadvertent
Discovery of Human Remains Training (click

This training provides participants will a basic understanding of
how to deal with an inadvertent discovery including the proper procedures
of notifying officials, protection and stabilization of the site,
and if applicable, reinternment.
Tribal Perspectives
on Cultural & Natural Resources Management Training (click

This camp-style training provides participants with a better understanding
of why Tribes view cultural and natural resources as significant,
how they have always managed the resources, and how these resources
are used today. Participants will camp in tipis and learn aboriginal
skills.
